On October 19th residents and guests of Bern will immerse in the fabulous atmosphere of animated films by the outstanding Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki at the Simple Music Ensemble concert "Miyazaki Dreams".
Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese animation director, screenwriter, producer, writer, winner of several Academy Awards. He has greatly influenced the world of animation, inspiring a whole generation of artists to work in this field and highlighting its limitless potential.
Miyazaki's first works are represented by the films "The White Snake Enchantress" by Okabe Kazuhiko and "The Snow Queen" by Lev Atamanov. Hayao deals with the themes of sincere feelings, humanism, family, pacifism, love of flying and flying machines. In Miyazaki's extraordinary animated worlds, the line between the real and the fantastic is almost blurred.
Joe Hisaishi is a Japanese composer and pianist, famous for his collaboration with director Hayao Miyazaki. Miyazaki and Hisaishi have created a large number of classic films together, such as "Gone with the Ghosts", "Howl's Moving Castle", "Princess Mononoke" and "The Wind is Getting Stronger". Although Miyazaki and Hisaishi work in different fields of art, their works mutually complement each other. Unique films, that fascinate viewers with their beauty and emotional depth, have appeared thanks to their cooperation.
